The K&N Typhoon short-ram intake for Ford Focus RS (2016–2018, 2.3L) replaces the factory airbox with a mandrel-bent aluminum tube, heat shield and oversized K&N black-rubber topped high-flow filter. A molded scoop funnels outside air to the filter and the system uses factory mounting points and the factory MAP sensor location. It aims to reduce intake restriction for broader power and improved throttle response; some Typhoon systems have restricted CARB status.
