It benefits from intake and exhaust upgrades and is tuned to deliver usable torque without sacrificing vacuum for accessories. Note: some 1965–66 396 c.i.d. BBC engines have an oiling groove in the rear journal; listed cams will not fit those motors—contact customer service for the correct option.
