The COMP Cams CB XS282S-10 camshaft is a street/strip Xtreme Energy profile that favors responsiveness and midrange strength, recommended with headers, gears and a 3000+ stall converter. It improves torque and area under the lift curve for better throttle manners but will produce a rougher idle; the nitrided family provides surface durability. Note: BBC 1965–1966 396 c.i.d. engines with a rear-journal oiling groove require a different cam.
