The COMP Cams XR292 camshaft for small-block Chevy applications is not suitable for 1955–57 engines requiring a rear journal oiling groove; contact us if that groove is necessary. This cam is optimized for use with melanized or nitrided distributor gears and incompatible with untreated cast or steel gears. It’s intended for pro street builds with 11:1+ compression and a 3500+ stall.
