The COMP Cams CS 312A-R7 camshaft uses a .900" base circle and is set up for sustained high-rpm operation. It's recommended for applications like a 358 ci engine running an open carburetor where constant high RPM is expected. As with other COMP grinds, check distributor gear compatibility and note that 1955–1957 small-block Chevrolets with a rear journal oiling groove require a different cam variant.
