The Cometic AFM oil pan gasket is specified for 1997–2002 Dodge Viper applications with a .225" thickness and uses AFM material: a chemically blown nitrile synthetic rubber bonded to an aluminum core. AFM offers about 85% recovery, strong torque retention, and temperature resistance above 205–250°F in source text, and is designed to seal the oil pan without requiring sealants or re-torquing.
