The COMP Cams ID locator spring seat is a hardened-steel valve spring locator that protects the head and shim while centering and holding the spring under high RPM and heavy spring loads. Its inboard locating shoulder avoids extensive head machining required by older cup-style seats. The 4776-sized option lists a 1.550" OD and .570" ID and pairs well with COMP springs like 928, 944, 26089 and 955.
