The COMP Cams ID locator spring seat is a hardened steel seat that protects the head and shim while centering and retaining the valve spring under high RPM and extreme spring pressure. Its inboard locating shoulder avoids the heavy head machining older cup-style seats required. The 4780 option measures 1.540" OD and .640" ID and is specified to work with dual springs like 938, 953, 927 and 929.
