BD's BrakeLoc for 1994-2003 Ford 7.3L manual transmissions connects to the exhaust backpressure valve control wire, turning the OEM valve into an electronically controlled exhaust brake. This cost-effective solution provides additional engine retarding for towing; note there can be a 2-3 second hydraulic delay and it is not intended as a full substitute for a dedicated BD exhaust brake system.
